This Place has been left behind me for the most part, if I can say it like that. Comes and goes from time to time but will I think it will always be a part of me. Reminding me to keep climbing higher out of the darkness, or you'll end up in Here again.

It is that (dark) and much more. Like everything about you is turned off. Your abilities to do the most simple tasks seems impossible. We have all probobly felt a degree of this kind of helplessness before. I think of this and wonder how the hell I ever crawled out of that muck, in This Place where you feel there cant possibly be anyone else in Here i was never alone.

This one sounds very dark... like all the lights have been turned out and you're left with your analysis of that which you cannot perceive well.

It sounds like the place you are describing must be left behind or at least somewhat seperated from you - you from it - in order to move on. Would you say that is true?

Also, I have moved this from "General" category to "Writing". Thanks for writing, Nyalic!

First, Dustin, to answer a question you seem to ask several times in this writing, "yes". We must understand ourselves at the end of the day and that is what matters most. If one were to use a frame of reference outside of his or her own to base decisions on, we'd live FOR that position/person our entire lives, ensentially enslaving ourselves to an unquenchable thirst, and damning ourselves to a permanent and helpless struggle.

Instead, we must find who WE are, what WE want, and how to go about life according to our wishes. The lessons you speak of - pain and darkness, hatred and then death - are all part of the path. I truly believe they are an absolutely essential part, which not only cannot be missed, but also cannot be misunderstood. If you fail, it won't be within the situation itself, but within your own mind and failing to understand your own position.

The people who understand this, who honestly and thoroughly grasp it, succeed in pushing onward the boundaries within which they operate daily. In other words, they may live more fully.

I remember this particular time rather well.

I know that there was some soul searching going on around the time this was written and you highlight some of the methods here. The roller-coaster can make you feel numb, but it's our reaction to it that forces both blindness and numbness to feel permanent. That is, if we don't watch our attitudes. I am reminded of a paragraph from Charles Swindol that I keep on my wall here at work titled "Attitude". It makes a world of difference.

The last two sentences show that you made a decision not to let the above course of action permanently guide you. I see it as a way to push back from the numbness and seek out another way.

This is wild. I am reminded of someone who might be under the influence of a hallucinogen of sorts, seeing vivid pictures of fruit and candy battling one another and the viewer himself. The images are so realistic that the viewer can describe them in detail.

It is unique, Dustin, and I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. It's actually quite poetic, reminding me further of a piece of Renaissance Era work. Well done.

This is almost two things at once to me, both intimate and religious, to a point... I'm not all that great at picking up on meanings, or words between words, for I am not the maker of such things, and cannot judge oa cration like that.... But I do like this work of literary art...
Awesome^_^

I like this. =)
It is short, but the point driven by the words don't need excessive explanations.
Nicely written, Charles!

I have a list of things to do to this project/image as soon as I sit down to it again. I like the suggestions and will post another version of this sig with the following done:

Fix Mercedes spoiler
Use Orange for bg (burnt orange much like the website theme)
Blur background slightly using smudge tool

If you look, Jerod, the cars already have the smudge technique applied to them somewhat. I used what I learned from that last posted tutorial several months ago with my Challenger pic.

I'm digging it.

Complete personal preference here but maybe something to add to it...

I personally like using a red/orange color on these black and white images as it seems to pop a bit more. Also, I would use the blur tool on the background behind the cars to make them more the focus of the image, and then also use the smudge tool on the back parts of the cars to give them a "motion" affect around the track.

Good work though :)
